Electrolytic aluminum: The supply and demand pattern may remain moderately loose in 2023

In 2023, electrolytic aluminum is expected to increase in the overall production trend under the expectation of the release of new capacity and the recovery of reduced production capacity. In terms of new production capacity, about 1.109 million tons of new production was put into operation; in terms of resuming production capacity with reduced production capacity, in the near future, due to power problems, the expected resumption of production is weakened, and it is expected that the output of electrolytic aluminum in 2023 will be about 41.24 million tons, an increase of 2.93% year-on-year.

In terms of overseas electrolytic aluminum supply, the new production capacity that can be put into operation overseas in 2023 is about 500,000 tons, and the production capacity in Europe in 2022 due to energy problems is expected to recover by about 600,000 tons, but the recovery still needs to pay attention to energy and profits.
